Welcome to the Wessex region pages.
The region covers a wide area, stretching from Dorset to West Sussex, including
Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight.
Within our region there are many places of interest to the motor enthusiast, including Goodwood, Thruxton, and the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. There are also innumerable sites of historic, cultural and general interest (which could become venues for club meetings) and in the north, at Bracknell, the head office of BMW (UK). We also have the Rolls Royce motor manufacturing plant, near Chichester

The region has many well known major cities, including Winchester, once the capital of England and considered the centre of the Wessex region. The cities of Southampton and Portsmouth border our region on the south, with the Isle of Wight a short ferry ride off the coast. Swindon and Basingstoke border our area in the north and to the east near Guildford are the studios of the popular BBC motoring programme ‘Top Gear’. We have areas of natural beauty, such as The New Forest, The South Downs, and Salisbury Plain where you can find the world famous tourist attraction of Stonehenge. For military enthusiasts we have The Tank Museum at Bovington, near Dorchester, and the Royal Navy Heritage site in Portsmouth. In fact, there are far too many places of interest to mention here, along with many stately homes and castles, cathedrals and museums, viewpoints and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Our role as the committee for the Wessex Region is to provide a variety of activities, both motor related and social, throughout the year for club members. Some of these will be simple ‘pub meets’ arranged throughout the region at different venues to give each local area an opportunity to mix. There will also be concours meetings and in the future visits or outings to popular attractions or business, such as the Rolls Royce works near Chichester, may be arranged. We will also support events arranged by the National Committee. Everyone is welcome to come along and see what we are about. We appreciate your support, opinions, and ideas for future activities.
