The
Central Region covers Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire,
Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire,
Warwickshire, West Midlands, Southern Shropshire and the Welsh
counties of Dyfed, Gwent, Mid, South and West
Glamorgan and Powys. (Clywd and Gwnnedd are part of the
North West Region).
The actual area covered is from the
Welsh coast to approximately between the M1 and A1 from East to
West, and from north of Birmingham to an approximate line
along the M4 in the South.
In the
east of the region we have the Home of British Motor Sport
Silverstone, and 2005 saw the return of the clubs Better Driving Day
to Silverstone where you could venture on to the full Grand Prix
circuit, or take a passenger ride in a new M5 with Sabine Schmitz of
Nurburgring fame.
The west
of the region takes in mid and south Wales with stunning
scenery and some challenging roads to enjoy at the regular monthly
meets.
The
North of the region has Birmingham and all that goes with
the country's second city. Phil’s well established Z
register/Central drive and dine evenings are always popular, see events page for
details.
The
Clubs National Festival is held right here in the central region at
the national Heritage Motor Museum Gaydon Warwickshire, where you
have a chance to drive your car round the Aston Martin test track,
and enjoy a vast display of BMW’s.
As you
can see there is something for everyone, most importantly something
for all BMW enthusiasts.
